Our Origin Story
In 1991, amidst the closing of Jotco, a pivotal moment arose that would forever change the landscape of gas station service and repair in Northern California. Butch Stroupe, known fondly in the industry as the “Gas Station Guru,” found himself at a crossroads. With multiple job offers flooding in, he faced a choice: follow the traditional path or forge a new one.
Inspired by the passion for service and the potential to fill a growing gap in the market, Butch’s wife, Laurie Stroupe, saw an opportunity where others saw uncertainty. “We can do this ourselves,” she declared, igniting the spark that would lead to the creation of their own company.
Determined to make their mark, the Stroupe’s took a leap of faith. They launched their venture with a bold mass mailing campaign featuring their home phone number, paired with a bright yellow truck filled to the brim with parts and tools. It was a sight that quickly became synonymous with reliability and expertise in gas station repair, and installation services.
The early days were filled with hard work, long hours, and the unwavering belief that they could provide exceptional service to their customers. Their dedication paid off as word spread, and their reputation as a dependable, knowledgeable resource grew.
With Butch’s expertise and Laurie’s keen insight into business operations, the company grew steadily, driven by their core values of integrity, quality, and customer care. They became a trusted partner for gas stations in need, transforming challenges into solutions and building lasting relationships along the way.
Now, as we enter a new chapter, Butch and Laurie’s two sons are stepping in to fill the shoes of their parents with the same passion and commitment that defined the company from the start. With a fresh perspective and the values instilled in them, they are dedicated to upholding the legacy and continuing the mission of serving the industry with excellence.
Today, we proudly carry on the journey that Butch, and Laurie began over three decades ago, ensuring that we’re not just repairing gas stations, but fueling dreams and ambitions along the way.
